| John Luce Lockett Born 1952
John Studied at the Northampton School of Art and the Byam Shaw Kensington, before embarking upon further extensive study of life drawing and anatomy. His primary interest is painting people in situations, whether it be a beautiful woman or an old man in a bar.
In 1995 John completed his reconstruction portrait of Fletcher Christian the Bounty Mutineer. This is now the definitive portrait of Christian throughout the world, and is featured in the book 'Fragile Paradise' by Glynn Christian. John has also used his extensive knowledge of anatomy to work as a medical illustrator alongside eminent surgeons.
Since his first one man show in London's Cork Street, John has exhibited extensively in the UK, America and Japan as well as the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. His work can be found in stately homes and private collections world wide.
In 2000 John was again commissioned by London Contemporary Art to paint a collection of work subsequently called "NightHawks" which has been exhibited all over the world by West End Galleries Florida and by LCA in both New York and Los Angeles.
John’s lastest venture is a series of paintings “Homage to Gustav Klimt”
